News about Biotechnology Progress

The Publications Division of the ACS has returned its share of ownership in Biotechnology Progress to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, with whom we have co-published the journal since 1990. The final issue of Biotechnology Progress to be co-published by the ACS is Volume 24, Issue 3.  Additional information is posted on the Biotechnology Progress Web site.

 ACS Value-Based Pricing

The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society has announced new pricing policies for the 2008 subscription year. These new subscription models de-couple the prices of the print and electronic versions of each journal and utilize value-based metrics such as number of articles published, ISI® impact factor, and total downloads to establish prices for each ACS Journal. Development of this innovative pricing structure was based on four guiding principles: establishing fairness, encouraging participation and use, broadening access, and minimizing disruption.
