ACS Publications launches new Citation Manager functionality

ACS Publications is pleased to announce the availability of a new Citation Manager functionality as of August 25, 2005. The new feature provides researchers with the opportunity to download a citation into their citation management software. This feature is available on all journal full-text and abstract html pages and is located at the top of the page to the right of the "PDF version of this article" option. The link is listed as "Download to Citation Manager". During the ACS National Fall Meeting, many graduate students were impressed and eager to use this new functionality in their research.

How It Works

Once a user clicks the "Download to Citation Manager" text they will be prompted to choose the appropriate citation management software and will then be able to download the citation directly into their citation management software. The functionality is compatible with all commonly used citation management systems: EndNote, Reference Manager, ProCite, or BibTex.

ACS Web Edition and ACS Journal Archive Subscribers, please note the following:

Adobe Acrobat: please use the most current version
To get maximum usage out of your subscription we highly recommend using the most current version of Adobe Acrobat at your institution.  Older versions of Adobe may make it difficult for your patrons to open and read PDF files.  This is especially important as they are researching within the Archive where there is no option to view an HTML version of a paper.

ACS Usage Reports
You may have noticed that a new web usage report was generated for August. ACS has added a Top Articles by Institution with stats beginning Jan 2005.
