GIVEAWAY For a limited time, Davison Catalysts is offering new Catalynk users a free set of catalyst carrier samples. DAVISON CATALYSTS

Davison Catalysts, part of W.R. Grace, has launched its Catalynk website for researchers and process developers. The site, at www.davicat.com, provides an online expert system to help users select support materials for heterogeneous catalysts. It also offers tutorials and sample ordering capabilities. Users can input process conditions and other variables to choose materials. However, the site requires minimal information about the user in order to keep requests confidential.

BRG Townsend will soon make available the results of a survey to uncover customer e-business needs in the area of engineering resins, styrenics, and polyolefins in Europe. The business consulting firm says it will complete more than 600 interviews; it intends to collect information on which suppliers have been most successful in their e-business implementation, who is perceived as having the best systems and why, and what drives customers to use various features. The results will be offered to suppliers who want to design or improve their e-commerce initiatives.

ChemNavigator's online iResearch Library now contains more than 5 million chemical samples from over 80 commercial and academic suppliers. Researchers can use the library for compound selection, structure-activity relationship searches, virtual screening, and sample ordering. The library can be licensed either on CD-ROM or for online access. ChemNavigator has recently added 3-D protein-ligand mapping technology to create chemical libraries designed to show high affinity to drug targets.

The site--which covers materials, electronics, chemicals, biosystems, textiles, and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices--already has 75 small-tech vendors and more than 300 product listings. Services are free to nanotech and MEMS suppliers. Nanotech-Now.com, operated by staff from 7th Wave Inc. and the Foresight Institute, has started a consulting service called NanoStrategies. The service will provide information and guidance to companies and organizations that want to understand or use nanotechnology.
