Abstract:

The divergent syntheses of dendrimers composed of glycerol and varying layers of succinic and adipic acids are described. These alternating and bilayer generational copolymers are prepared in high yield using sequential esterification and hydrogenolysis reactions. The glass transition temperatures and solubilities are dependent on the composition of the outer generation layer.
