Paul R. Ortiz de Montellano received his education at MIT and Harvard and is currently a Professor of Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmacology at the University of California in San Francisco. His core research interests focus on the structure, mechanism, inhibition, and function of hemoproteins. His principal collaborators on Saturday afternoons continue to be Boito, Gounod, Puccini, and Verdi.
