Jairton Dupont was educated in Chemistry at PUCRS (Brazil) and received his Ph.D. in 1988 under the guidance of Dr. M. Pfeffer at the Université Louis Pasteur de Strasbourg (Strasbourg, France). After a Postdoc (1988−1990) with Prof. S. G. Davies at the Dyson Perrins Laboratory, University of Oxford (Oxford, U.K.), he began work as visiting scientist (1990−1992) at the Institute of Chemistry, UFRGS (Porto Alegre, Brazil). In 1992 he became a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the same Institute. He has been invited as Professor at the Faculté de Chimie de Strasbourg, Strasbourg, France (2000). His research interests are centered in synthetic organometallic chemistry with special emphasis in homogeneous in biphasic catalysis. He has authored around 80 scientific publications and 7 patents.

Roberto Fernando de Souza, born in 1958 in Caxias do Sul (Brazil), studied Chemical Engineering at UFRGS (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and received his Ph.D. in 1987 under the guidance of Dr. Igor Tkatchenko at the Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France). He began work as professor in the Institute of Chemistry of UFRGS (Porto Alegre, Brazil) in 1986. In 1994 he studied as Postdoc with Prof. Yves Chauvin at the IFP (France). His research interests are centered in Coordination Catalysis with special emphasis in biphasic catalysis and nickel-catalyzed olefin polymerization. He has authored around 57 scientific publications and 8 patents.

Paulo A. Z. Suarez, born in 1970 in Quarai-RS, studied chemical engineering at UFRGS and received his Ph.D. in 2000 in the group of Professor Dupont at UFRGS with a thesis in ionic liquids. At the present he is Lecturer at UnB (National University of Brasilia). He is the author of 16 publications and 3 patents.
