Abstract

Frederick B. Dutton, well-known for his many contributions to chemical education, died August 10, 1995, at the age of 88. Dr. Dutton was one of the early editors of the Tested Demonstrations column in this Journal, taking over the duties in 1957, just two years after its founding by Hubert Alyea. He continued editing the column until July 1964. Dr. Dutton also served on the Editorial board of the Journal under the Editorship of William F. Kieffer and was active in DivCHED for many years. As a faculty member at Michigan State University, he was instrumental in the founding of Lyman Briggs College within the University and served as its dean.
