Abstract

Raman intensity measurements of a vapor above its pure liquid at a given pressure and temperature may be used to determine the molal heats of vaporization. Specifically, this method involves measuring Raman intensities of a vapor in equilibrium with its pure liquid as a function of temperature. This article describes an experiment which offers a Raman method whereby Raman intensity measurements obtained from the vapor over pure water to yield th heat of vaporization of water.
