Abstract

This paper finds the conditions for the validity of the quasi-stationary-state approximation (QSSA) by the study of factor DSS (deviation from the quasi-stationary state) versus time for the mechanism A <=> B <=> C and treats the mechanisms A <=> B â’> C and A â’> B -> C as particular cases. We propose a methodology to determine if and when the QSSA can be applied to the three mechanisms.
