Abstract

A cooperative approach to chemical education at Kettering University (formerly GMI Engineering and Management Institute) is described. Typical Kettering students participate in co-op from the beginning of their freshman year through graduation, alternating 3-month work and academic terms year-round. This rotation culminates in a work-related thesis in their 5th year.
