Michael J. SamideJournal of Chemical Education2008 85 (11), 1512Separation Anxiety: An In-Class Game Designed To Help Students Discover Chromatography
Michael J. SamideJournal of Chemical Education2008 85 (11), 1512An in-class activity has been developed to assist students in discovering chromatographic separations. Designed on the basis of plate theory, the game has students use instructor-provided partition coefficients to establish equilibrium for two different ...

Teaching Chromatography Using Virtual Laboratory Exercises
David C. StoneJournal of Chemical Education2007 84 (9), 1488Teaching Chromatography Using Virtual Laboratory Exercises
David C. StoneJournal of Chemical Education2007 84 (9), 1488Though deceptively simple to teach, chromatography presents many nuances and complex interactions that challenge both student and instructor. Time and instrumentation provide major obstacles to a thorough examination of these details in the laboratory. ...

Charles A. Smith and F. Warren VillaescusaJournal of Chemical Education2003 80 (9), 1023A classroom activity has been developed that allows students to perform chromatographic separations in the classroom through active participation. Using this classroom simulation, students develop a set of rules used to investigate the effect of flow rate,...
