Abstract

A main reason for the difficulties often encountered by students when studying for a final examination in chemistry is that they have forgotten many of the very basic concepts that underlie the skills they are expected to demonstrate. The classroom activity described here is designed to serve as a refresher of basic concepts for students preparing for final exams. Adapted from the Jeopardy game, this activity allows teams of students to work together to answer questions on basic concepts chosen from the topics covered during the semester. Very popular among students, it provides a useful prod for productively initiating the final exam review process.
