Abstract

The 2000 James Bryant Conant Award recipient is interviewed. Questions posed center around the personal and professional impacts of receiving the award, his philosophy of education, some of the more significant incidents that have occurred in his classroom, what qualities characterize outstanding teachers, and what he sees as current trends, both positive and negative, in education in general and chemical education in particular.
