Abstract
The stoichiometric displacement model adds solvent release to the adsorption equilibrium between a solute adsorbate in solution and a solid adsorbent. Unique interpretations of HPLC and isotherms of Langmuir and Freundlich type are a result. Experiments are described that are adaptable to the teaching of undergraduate laboratories in biochemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, and analytical chemistry.
