Abstract

First published by the ACS Education Division in 1983, ChemMatters is a magazine for high school chemistry students and their teachers. ChemMatters has strong links to past publications in the same genre. This history of the magazine presents not only the development of ChemMatters, but also the development of ACS education activities over the past 25 years. ChemMatters has the editorial goal of helping high school students understand how chemistry works in their everyday lives and as a result, to see the relevance of what they are learning in school. After more than two decades of production, ChemMatters continues to be a popular and useful resource for learning and understanding chemistry.
