Abstract

In recognition of the National Chemistry Week theme, this From Past Issues looks at the relationship of sports to chemistry. A 2002 article gives numerous examples of the importance of synthetic chemicals and composites in sports equipment and sports medicine. Earlier papers have shown how sports and games can be applied in chemical education to arouse student interest and/or to serve as models for concepts such as chemical kinetics.
