Abstract
Many phenomena in chemistry involve fractional distributions. Sometimes it is a chemical substance that is fractionally distributed, other times it is a chemical process that is fractionally distributed. The purpose of this paper is to present a common approach to the representation of all fractional distributions. Using a common approach provides three advantages: first, it is simple; second, it is easy to understand; and third, a common approach can reveal otherwise hidden relationships between phenomena.

Janice S. BartonJournal of Chemical Education2011 88 (9), 1336-1339This article describes a comprehensive treatment of experimental enzyme kinetics strongly coupled to electronic data acquisition and use of spreadsheets to organize data and perform linear and nonlinear least-squares analyses, all in a manner that ...

Enzyme Catalysis and the Gibbs Energy
Addison AultJournal of Chemical Education2009 86 (9), 1069Enzyme Catalysis and the Gibbs Energy
Addison AultJournal of Chemical Education2009 86 (9), 1069Gibbs-energy profiles are often introduced during the first semester of organic chemistry, but are less often presented in connection with enzyme-catalyzed reactions. In this article I show how the Gibbs-energy profile corresponds to the characteristic ...
