Abstract
Based on feedback regarding the goals and overall direction of the revision, a draft of the next edition of the ACS Guidelines for Chemistry Programs in Two-Year Colleges has been prepared. As with previous editions, the draft guidelines are designed to maximize the potential of students, faculty, and programs in two-year colleges. The goals of the revision are to reflect changes in pedagogy, technology, and accountability; to facilitate student transfer; and to provide a more useful resource for strengthening programs. To meet these goals, the draft guidelines are built on a vision of excellence, place increased emphasis on professional development, and are aligned with the ACS Guidelines and Evaluation Procedures for Bachelor's Degree Programs. Input is being sought from both two- and four-year programs regarding the draft guidelines.
