Abstract

Abstract Image

β-Sultams, highly strained sulfonyl analogues of β-lactams, were prepared enantio- and diastereoselectively by tertiary amine catalyzed [2 + 2] cycloaddition reactions. The title compounds are practical precursors of highly enantioenriched biologically interesting β-aminosulfonyl derivatives.
