Abstract

Abstract Image

A catalytic enantioselective direct conjugate addition of nitroalkanes to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes using diphenylprolinol silyl ether as an organocatalyst has been developed. Using this methodology as a key step, short syntheses of therapeutically useful compounds have also been accomplished.
