In dynamic libraries designed by Eliseev
and coworkers, the components (A1, A2,
A3, A4 . . . An) are in equilibrium with each
other. When a component such as A4
binds to an immobilized target compound
(T) and is removed from solution, the
equilibrium shifts to create more A4. This
makes it possible to enrich and identify
A4, even if it were initially present only in
trace amounts.
