Astrid Nehlig is a research director at the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research in Strasbourg, INSERM U 398 (Faculty of Medicine, 67085 Strasbourg, France; 33 388 24 33 57; fax: 33 388 24 33 60; e-mail: nehlig@neurochem.u-strasbg.fr). She received a Ph.D. in neurochemistry from the University of Nancy, France, and is the author of numerous articles and book chapters.
