The burden of migraine

Twenty-three million people in the United States have migraines.

More than one-half are undiagnosed.

Moderate to severe disability with migraine attacks is experienced by 8.7 million females and 2.6 million males with migraine attacks.

About one-third report being severely disabled or requiring bed rest during an attack.

Twenty-five percent of females have 4 or more severe attacks per month.

Thirty-five percent of females have 1 to 3 severe attacks per month.

Fifty percent of males have 1 or more attacks per month.
