LABTRACK combines the functionality of a word processor, a LIMS-like database, and functions such as digital notarization and electronic signature needed to keep a truly legal and complete electronic lab notebook. LABTrack offers searching, reporting, and embedding capabilities not possible using paper notebooks or even a LIMS. The digital notarization function provides the complete legal protection needed for maintaining a lab notebook, including requirements for protecting patents, date of discovery, and work performance. The electronic signature is an FDA-promulgated standard for identifying users. Also included are biometric fingerprint readers for identifying users. Databases
 The INORGANICS LIBRARY OF FTIR SPECTRA contains more than 1,800 spectra found in a typical inorganic laboratory including four basic subgroups: minerals, borons, inorganic compounds, and commercial materials. The commercial materials include cements, ceramics, porcelains, clay, and glass. Data in deresolved and high-resolution formats help identify unknown samples.  THE MERCK INDEX on CD-ROM for Windows, version 12:3, contains more than 10,000 monographs detailing chemicals, drugs, and biologicals. Each monograph describes a single substance or a small group of related compounds. Special features of the CD include text search and structure and substructure searches.
