Organometallics
Information for Authors

NOTE: Authors may now choose to submit their own Manuscript PDF File for use during the peer review process, or allow the system to generate a PDF automatically. [See details...] Note that there are special instructions for Preparing and Submitting Manuscripts Using TeX/LaTeX.

Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts

Organometallics requires Web submission of all manuscripts. Document Templates are available for preparing manuscripts for submission as well as for preparing final, accepted manuscripts.

Paginate the entire manuscript and double space all materials, including abstract, references, and figure captions. Submissions featuring multiple columns will be returned for reformatting. Do not use the JACS communication template.

List the full names of all authors for indexing purposes.

A graphic table of contents (TOC) entry is required: a brief abstract and graphic prepared according to the guidelines in the Notice to Authors. The TOC entry is to appear as the last page of the manuscript. An edited version of the main manuscript abstract may be duplicated as the TOC abstract but must appear with the TOC graphic at the end of the manuscript.

Where appropriate, description and documentation of crystallography must be made available as Supporting Information. Combine CIF data into one file. (A properly formatted, computer-readable CIF file is required. (Please validate CIFs to ensure that they contain no syntax errors or problems prior to submission.) Submissions lacking the necessary Supporting Information cannot be forwarded to reviewers. Deposition at the CCDC does not fulfill this requirement.

ZIP archives are not appropriate for deposition as Supporting Information. Do not upload individual supporting graphics. Collect non-CIF material into a Word or PDF file, with a title page identifying the manuscript and authors. Consolidate Supporting Information as much as possible for the benefit of reviewers and of interested readers after publication.

General Instructions

Author instructions vary somewhat for each journal. However, there are general instructions for all journals that include the following:
