Submission and Authoring in ACS Paragon Plus

Organic Letters
Information for Authors

NOTE: Authors may now choose to submit their own Manuscript PDF File for use during the peer review process, or allow the system to generate a PDF automatically. [See details...] Note that there are special instructions for Preparing and Submitting Manuscripts Using TeX/LaTeX.

Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts

All manuscripts must be submitted through the ACS Paragon Plus System. Hardcopy submissions of manuscripts and Supporting Information are no longer accepted.

The purpose of Organic Letters is the rapid disclosure of the key elements of a study. Authors should provide enough background information to place the new disclosure in context and to justify the rapid publication format. Full details should be reserved for an Article, which should appear in due course. The length of a Letter can be 2,3, or 4 pages, and back-to-back Letters will be considered.

Download the template to format your manuscript after you have read the author guidelines.

Download a sample manuscript [PDF] to see how a final, formatted Letter should look in Organic Letters.

Submission of a Compound Characterization Checklist is recommended but not required when manuscripts report the synthesis of compounds.

General Instructions
