LECO's GDS-750A
Applications:
Bulk analyses - ferrous and nonferrous metals in sheets, wire, or
in-process. Depth profile analysis of thermochemical treatments, nitriding,
carbonitriding, carburizing, galvanizing, coatings, and plating.
How it works:
The cathodic sputtering process of the Grimm-type lamp is created by applying
a controlled voltage and current to the sample surface. Surface atoms
removed by this sputtering process diffuse into the argon plasma where
excitation and emission occurs. Separation of atom removal and excitation
provides well-defined spectra which result in simple linear calibrations.
Product Features:
The GDS-750A is a 0.75 meter focal length, 58-channel spectrometer. It can
provide quantitative information in as little as 30 seconds. Depth profiling
capabilities are best at 10nm to 50µ m into the sample. High resolution
scanning entrance slit provides background correction and poly-scan
capabilities.
