Reagent Chemicals Online now available for members and institutions! The American Chemical Society’s Committee on Analytical Reagents is the only organization in the world that sets requirements and develops validated methods for determining the purity of analytical reagents. Now available online, with a new look and enhanced search capabilities for the entire contents of the 10th edition, Reagent Chemicals Online provides searching capabilities by Keyword, CAS Number, reagent chemical or standard grade reference material. Upon accessing the site, the search “box” is immediately available at the top of the opening page. Further, the search box hyperlink is always available in the left column of the site and at the top of the page so that new searches can be performed quickly no matter where you are on the site. The new Reagent Chemicals Online includes general physical properties and analytical uses for all reagent chemicals, over 500 in all. Thirty-two new reagents and three new classes of standard grade reference materials are also available. In addition, the use of Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), which is recognized as the most powerful and flexible trance element technique, is now accepted as an analytical method. Other features include a CAS number index that links to the corresponding reagent, a separate index for standard grade reference materials (also fully “linkable”), updated atomic weights, frequently used mathematical equations, complete assay calculations with titer values, a tutorial on how to read a monograph, and detailed tables of contents introducing each section. Additional features include information on ACS’s Committee on Analytical Reagents, email access to individual committee member, an enhanced demo site, and who to contact for problems or comments on any aspect of the online material. As always, reagent chemical supplements and committee meeting minutes with meeting announcements will be available free of charge and posted on the site as they become available. Online access is based on a one-time fee for both members and institutions, and is in effect until a new edition of the book is published, approximately 5 to 6 years. To access pricing and contact information please visit the Ordering Information and Pricing page. The new hardcover 10th edition of Reagent Chemicals is also available at Oxford University Press’s website at http://www.oup.com/us/brochure/0841239452/?view=usa. ACS Members receive a 30% when they order from this site. Copyright © 2008 American Chemical Society
