Reaction Analyzer. The compact ReactIR 4000 is designed for use in fume hoods. This analyzer determines reaction pathways and kinetics in a broad range of organometallic-based and metal-mediated chemistries. In addition, the ReactIR analyzes liquid-phase reactions containing metal particles, reactions carried out at subambient temperatures, such as organolithium enolizations, and organometallic catalyzed reactions.
ASI Applied Systems 230
Freezer. The NapCoil emphasizes reliability and sample preservation, and it features a cooling-coils-in-the-shelf design. With the cooling coils in direct contact with the sample, freezing is rapid and sample temperature uniformity is improved. Oversize 3/4-hp compressors and an oversize first-stage condenser eliminate the need for auxiliary cooling fans.
NAPCO 231
Sample Analyzer. The FlowSorb III 2305/2310 easily determines samples with surface areas from 0.01 to more than 1000 m2/g with reproducibility better than 0.5%. Multipoint BET analysis can also be performed; and the analyzer features a built-in Dewar elevator for automated analysis. In addition, the FlowSorb III has a warming fan to rapidly warm the sample tube to increase sample throughput.
Micromeritics 232
Plate Reader. This model allows users to examine the bottom of microtiter plates and Petri dishes without the potential problems caused by lifting the plate. The plate reader consists of a clear deck for holding the plate and an adjustable 3x mirror for viewing the reflection of the underside of the plate.
Scienceware 233
Software. Version 7.0 of CLASS-VP chromatography software features clientserver systems for enterprise solutions so as to ensure full compliance from validation to electronic signature to audit trail. It includes full 21 CFR Part 11 compliance and Windows NT security. This package also allows the user to share information and control instrumentation from anywhere in the world in a completely secure environment.
Shimadzu 234
Melting Point Apparatus. Models B-540 and B-545 can determine the melting points of substances in the research and quality-control laboratories of chemical and pharmaceutical companies. Both models have a temperature range from ambient to 400 °C and a selection of nine heating speeds. The units can simultaneously determine the melting points of three samples or the boiling points of two samples.
Brinkmann Instruments 235
Ion Reference Materials. This product line includes anion and cation single-element ion chromatography standards. Multielement ion standards are also available and manufactured with the same high-purity materials and quality as the single-element standards. Quality-control documentation is provided with every standard.
SPEX Certi-Prep 236
Stirrers. Designed for smooth to intense low-viscosity fluids, these instruments can mix and heat at the same time. Each stirrer features a hermetically sealed housing with extra screening material under the hot plate. Each stirrer also has a capped power switch, gaskets under control knobs to seal control shafts, and an angled (45°) control panel.
Heidolph 237
Filter Plates. The MultiScreen384-PCR models are used to provide fast, centrifugation-free platforms for high-throughput PCR and sequencing reaction cleanup. The 384-well filter plates incorporate size-exclusion technology, which enables users to process smaller volumes and results in lower reagent consumption for sequencing cleanup and no added reagents for PCR cleanup.
Millipore 238
Tubing. SIL-250 gives pumps the ability to operate continuously while minimizing the possibility of downtime due to mechanical failure. Applications include production filtration, sterile fill lines, medical processing, cell harvest collection systems, and blood analysis.
Saint Gobain 239
Mercury Analyzer. HydraAFGold is designed for 0.05-ppt to mid-ppb mercury level determinations. This fully automated atomic fluorescence-based instrument incorporates dual gold amalgamation traps for preconcentration of mercury as prescribed by EPA Method 1631. HydraAFGold is part of a series of high-performance mercury analyzers and sample preparation equipment for high-throughput mercury analysis.
Leeman Labs 240
Instrument Desk. This furniture can serve as a portable desk, an instrument table, auxiliary bench space, and even a cart. Its centered support bar permits seating from either side. The 19-in.-wide frame fits easily through most doors and wide corridors. In addition, 4-in.-diam hard rubber casters absorb vibration and are easy to steer.
LABCONCO 241
Software. The TotalChrom clientserver chromatography data system version 6.2 delivers computing resources across an entire organization while managing key processes centrally. Formerly known as Turbochrom, this software provides users with a Windows-style graphical interface and a structured, controlled environment that allows secure and efficient data management.
PerkinElmer 242
Miniflash. The Grabner model is now approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation for moving solids and liquids. Its technology (ASTM D6450) is less time-consuming and uses no open flames.
Petrolab 243
Internet
InnoCentive is a Web-based scientific solution network that allows companies to post their problems online for scientists around the world to view and submit solutions. All possible solutions are evaluated by the companies seeking these solutions and financial awards are given to those scientists who come up with the best solutions.
