Products
Proficiency Testing. This line of products, designed for the environmental laboratory industry, features online submittal of results through an "e-standards" secure website and online downloading of coded study reports. With recent changes among PT providers, this company has customer service specialists specifically dedicated to the PT line who are experienced in answering technical and administrative questions for laboratories seeking to transition from previously used providers. The scope of the product line includes nine different PT and DMR-QA studies offered annually.
Detector. The UVD 170U Multiwavelength UV–vis model is based on photodiode array technology, providing high sensitivity, low noise, and low drift at any wavelength from 200 to 595 nm. This detector is operated using Chromeleon software, which provides detector control, wavelength comparison for impurity recognition, and automated wavelength switching. The incorporated validation features ensure optimum performance for easy compliance with GLP and GMP requirements.
Flask. Software. Version 4.1.7 is a client-server LIMS system designed for use with 32-bit Windows client machines. This software was designed and developed by chemists and managers working in a commercial analytical testing laboratory specializing in environmental analysis. Applications for this software include environmental testing, petroleum, materials testing, food, and pharmaceutical laboratories. Supported databases include SQL Server 7, SQL Server 2000, MSDE version 7.0 or higher, Oracle Server version 8.0x, MS Access 97, and MS Access 2000.
Analyzer. The ta3000R reduction gas analyzer uses a chromatography separation system and patented reduction gasdetector (RGD). The RGD selectively responds to inorganics, unsaturated hydrocarbons, and oxygenates. Sensitivity ranges from low ppm to single-digit ppb levels. The analyzer has minimal matrix effects from permanent gases or saturated hydrocarbons. The compact design of the analyzer makes it easy to transport into the field. These combined features make the ta3000R optimal for gas research, ambient air monitoring, and continuous online monitoring of industrial bulk gases. Software. The CD-ROM demonstration version of ActivStats is now available free and contains 3 of the 27 lessons using multimedia techniques to teach basic statistics to professionals. Each demo gives users the chance to experience the tool´s design, as well as the interactive features of the full product, including the opportunity to explore new concepts with real data. ActivStats offers professionals who need to learn, reference, or remember statistics an alternative to a traditional textbook. Users can work at their own pace, bookmark essential material, and locate activities that teach specific concepts.
Hybridization Oven. The HM-4000 Multidizer model features two chambers for hybridization and blotting procedures that require different settings. Each compartment is independently operated for multifunction operation, creating conditions needed for cDNA library screenings, primer synthesis, and all nucleic acid hybridization. The HM-4000 brings together precise microprocessor controlled temperature settings and dynamic mixing features, providing the most accurate and ideal hybridization conditions. Mass Spectrometer. The LCQ Advantage is a compact, benchtop LC/MS with a robust orthogonal ion source that reduces chemical noise and allows analysis of compounds in dirty matrices. This spectrometer also operates using Ion Sweep technology that aids in sample desolvation and the reduction of chemical noise, which greatly improves spectral quality and ion source ruggedness. For proteomics or sample-limited applications, the nanospray source accessory provides low flow rates and high sensitivity. Sample Processor. The Model 774 handles any level of moisture by connecting to the KF Coulometer Model 756 for low-level moisture analysis. Samples are kept in vials on the sample rack and are placed one at a time into a heating chamber to be purged with dried air or nitrogen gas. This gas stream quantitatively transports all moisture into the titration cell. The removable turntable rack allows users to perform sample vial preparation away from the oven, near a balance or PC, for example, and programmable routines can be stored for specific samples. A wide temperature range of 50–250 8C meets diverse analysis requirements. Chambers. With these storage devices, users get the working area they need with the opportunity to run two separate temperature, humidity, and light tests simultaneously. These stability and photo stability chambers are designed to meet guidelines for general stability testing of new drug substances, long-term and accelerated refrigerated testing, and photostability testing. These 103- and 303-foot chambers provide 5–60 8C temperature and 20–98% humidity to create repeatable environmental conditions for numerous applications. Furnace. These models are available in high temperature (reaching 1200 8C) and high capacity (reaching 1000 8C). The furnace system features menu-driven software, program storage, internal calibration capabilities, temperature control in automatic and ramping stages, and RS232 and computer ports for connection to balances and printers. No fume hood space is needed—smoke, fumes, and heat are removed continuously in a built-in exhaust system. Mixers. The 3A certified models are designed to provide the most efficient and hygienic mixing system available today. Each mixer incorporates the precision-engineered rotor/stator head, which has the capability to mix, emulsify, homogenize, solubilize, suspend, disperse, and disintegrate solids and reduce processing times by up to 90%. This new design provides aeration-free mixing and easy installation. Single and multistage units are available. Because of their unique configuration, this product cannot bypass the intense mixing zone of the rotor/stator workhead. Analyzer. The Gradex 1000 automates sieve analysis of dry, granular material and uses the same rotary shaking and tapping motion as manual sieve shakers. This analyzer accommodates either a stack of six full-height or nine half-height standard round test sieves. The test sieves can be easily changed to meet specific testing requirements. Combining the same motion as manual sieve shakers with standard test sieves ensures the same results as manual sieve analysis while eliminating the time-consuming manual process. In addition, the unit permits frequent and timely monitoring of the material being processed for effective quality control. Software. The CISPro 2000 CIS Chemical Inventory System includes a configurable signature feature that provides users in pharmaceutical applications with refined tools for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. With this feature, customers have the flexibility to determine which data editing events are critical and require an electronic signature. CISPro 2000 provides an audit trail and incorporates multiple levels of security, transaction logging, and signature verification. Ideal for use in pharmaceutical laboratory applications, the security and audit trail option allows the system administrator to determine which users are authorized to make various kinds of changes and enables accurate tracking of all change sources. Analyzer. The Grabner Mini-Distillation (MINIDIS) instrument is an atmospheric analyzer that significantly improves repeatability and reproducibility to produce accurate results. The fully independent design of the MINIDIS proves ideal for measuring the standard atmospheric distillation characteristics of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuels in direct correlation to ASTM D86 and ISO 3405 regulations. The operation involves placing the filling tube into the sample and pressing the "run" button. No special programming test conditions or distillation test knowledge is needed. Viscometer. The Model Y501 measures the solvent and sample viscosity simultaneously; therefore, errors due to temperature fluctuation and solvent variations are avoided. This viscometer is ideally suited for measuring the viscosity of dilute polymer solutions, is designed to meet users´ QA/QC requirements, and has been proven in the field for analysis of polybutadiene, polyolefins, cellulosics, nylon, and other polymers. It provides faster analysis than conventional glass tubes and yields higher accuracy and precision.

Software. The LabManager iLIMS 9.1 laboratory information management system includes capabilities for full 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. This allows for electronic signature support on each page, along with session locking, notification, and termination after break-in attempts and signature failures. LabManager iLIMS also provides significant improvements to audit trails on sample data, activities, system configuration changes, and electronic signatures.
DNA Purification Systems. Designed to increase speed and consistency, the Aurum family features products from the highest-throughput 96-well applications through small-scale column studies. A key advantage of these membrane-based products comes from "binary technology", which lets researchers perform lysate filtration and plasmid binding in a single step, in plate and column formats.
