ProductsRotor

Rotor. The Sorvall HIGHplate model for centrifuges allows researchers to spin tall microplate and DNA/RNA filter plate configurations at high speeds in a safe, biocontained environment. Independently tested and certified for biocontainment, this rotor accepts four deepwell microplates or two filtration devices to a maximum height of 85 mm. The rotor, which is sealed with a single twist of the transparent lid, also accommodates 10 standard microplates. In addition, this instrument achieves speeds to 5350 rpm in both the Legend T and refrigerated Legend RT models.
Kendro 230

Inventory System. The CIS operation now offers a built-in interface to laboratory balances. With this enhancement, users can automatically add or subtract chemical amounts directly from the balance, saving time and improving the accuracy of tracking inventory data of chemicals. The direct interface also minimizes the number of keystrokes needed to subtract or add amounts to a container. Windows-based CIS inventory systems are adaptable from the desktop to track laboratory chemicals and supplies. Client–server and Web versions are available.
ChemSW 231

Software. ActivityBase 5.0 covers a complete range of research requirements, from structure registration to high-throughput screening to dose–response and behavioral studies. In addition to flexibility enhancements, this software features modules that include StructureBase, a fully integrated chemical compound registration solution, and ReactionBase, an e-notebook style application for storing, managing, and searching reactions and reaction schemes. ActivityBase also enables users to record and manage several conditions linked to a single result, which makes it easier to manage results from protocols that involve complex ranges of experimental conditions.
ID Business Solutions 232

Gels. EZview Red Affinity gels facilitate immunoprecipitation and other small-scale affinity capture techniques commonly used to study protein expression, modification, and protein–protein interactions. These gels demonstrate improved visibility—reducing the possibility of accidental pellet aspiration during wash steps.
Sigma-Aldrich 233

GC AccessoryGC Accessory. The EZ Flash instrument offers laboratories a cost-effective method to enter the world of gas chromatography. The EZ Flash gives any GC system the ability to perform temperature ramping of up to 1200 °C/sec, offering speed as well as equal or better sensitivity.
Thermo Orion 234

Microwave-Heated Column Oven. This product uses microwave technology to heat only the columns, rather than the surrounding air, so cooldown times are minimized, which makes analysis faster. It also enables two columns to be programmed independently inside an existing column oven—doubling the GC capabilities of most laboratories. In addition, it can be programmed in incremental temperature ranges from 1 to 600°/min, which makes it useful for conventional and “fast GC” work. Scientists using temperature programs on a GC can double their GC capacity, decrease cooldown times, and have the capability to use fast GC applications to further decrease run times.
ANTEK 235

Software. The TriSEC 3.0 can determine accurate molecular weight and size information over the widest range of molecular weights. This software enables users to achieve better control and characterization of a polymer product’s molecular weight distribution, polydispersity, conformation and branching, and intrinsic viscosity. TriSEC can be used in conjuction with GPC applications using conventional calibration with a single RI or UV detector or with multiple detectors (up to four).
Viscotek 236

Valve System. The Maximizer buffer blending system is an add-on component that fits under the BioLogic DuoFlow’s workstation to enable automated on-line blending of buffers for pH scouting experiments. In addition, this instrument doubles the flow rate of the existing system to 80 ml/min for use with larger columns. Additional valving capability expands the number of applications that can be developed on a single system. The DuoFlow system’s modular components and racking flexibility allow it to fit into almost any lab and cold room space.
Bio-Rad 237

Synthesizer. The LabMate is a personal, semi-automated, benchtop system that offers research chemists the ability to do solid- or solution-phase reactions in parallel, regardless of whether the reaction conditions require refluxing, inert atmospheres, low pressure, or heating and cooling. The corrosive-resistant stainless steel cabinet and small footprint of the LabMate make it an ideal instrument for laboratories with limited space. Users can choose temperature control settings on the single zone or four different zone models with heating to 150 °C.
Advanced ChemTech 238

Detector. The UVD 340U photodiode array model features high resolution and low drift to provide sensitive detection from 200–595 nm. This detector uses Chromeleon software, which provides detector control, spectral overlays, three-dimensional plotting, library searches, and peak purity analyses. A complete set of qualification, documentation, and electronic signature features makes the detector compliant with GLP, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
Dionex 239

Temperature ControllerTemperature Controller. This model features variable-output voltage control that permits use with low-wattage heaters, heating mantles, hot plates, and heating tapes. Ideal for microdistillations, this temperature controller varies output from 5–95% with a switching capacity of up to 1200 W. Additional features include an LED readout with an independent programmable alarm and the capability to be mounted on a rack to conserve bench space.
Instruments for Research and Industry 240

Water Baths. The digital SW22 and SW23 models have a temperature range of 20–90 °C and a built-in circulation pump that allows for precise temperature stability and uniformity. These baths provide up to 2000 W of heating power. PID control ensures temperature stability of ±0.02 °C. Equipped with a built-in timer and RS232 interface, these water baths accommodate many different types of racks and trays and feature shaking frequency that is adjustable from 20 to 200 rpm.
Julabo 241

Filter Papers. Made of pure cellulose fibers, these papers are available in folded and flat stock, a wide selection of disc diameters, and a broad range of particle retention ratings. Papers are available in both standard and wet-strengthened varieties for determining particulate constituents. Quantitative filters are available in ashless and hardened ashless varieties, and can be used in gravimetric analysis and sample preparation instrument analysis.
Millipore 242

Washers. This complete line of laboratory glassware washers is ideal for most space and throughput requirements. The undercounter models have been field tested and the large-capacity G 7827 provides the same consistent results in a large unit, making it ideal for high-throughput, centralized wash areas. The newest addition to the line is the G 7825 medium-capacity model, which is ideal for centralized wash areas where space is at a premium.
Miele 243

Transportable Gases. These high-purity and mixed-calibration gases provide accurate and stable levels specifically engineered for either industrial hygiene and safety or laboratory applications. High reliability and convenient sizes make these transportable gases a cost-effective alternative to returnable, high-pressure cylinders whenever portability or limited gas quantities are needed. Highly reactive gas mixtures are provided in aluminum cylinders treated with exclusive cylinder inerting processes for guaranteed 12-month stability.
Scott Gas 244

Analyzer. The FTIR Prestige features a highly optimized, high-energy throughput optical system that results in a S/N ratio of 40,000:1. Coupled with a temperature-stabilized DLATGS detector, the Prestige is the ideal solution for a wide range of applications, including thin layers, which require maximum sensitivity. The analyzer includes Windows-based, 32-bit control software to enable instrument operation to be performed quickly and easily using dedicated analysis screens.
Shimadzu 245

Standards. The complete line of Claritas PPT standards for ICP-MS and trace ICP-AES/OES analysis includes single-element calibration and internal solutions.
