About the Cover:
The cover depicts two possible trajectories for an ion passing through a quadrupole mass filter. In one case (yellow) the RF voltage is low enough so that the Y component of the trajectory is unstable and the ion hits a Y rod. In the other case (blue) the RF voltage has been increased so that both X and Y components are stable and the ion gets through the filter.
