Chemists Celebrate Earth Day. Earth Day is April 22, 2004, and the American Chemical Society's theme for this year is "What do you know about H2O?". In celebration of Earth Day, this issue contains articles on water chemistry, green chemistry, and environmental chemistry. The cover features a false-color satellite image showing the water clarity of the lakes in Eagan, Minnesota. In this image, clear lakes are blue, moderately clear lakes are green and yellow, and murky lakes are orange and red.
