About the Cover:
Playing with Liquid Foams: Learning Physical Chemistry. Liquid foams are present in everyday life, including foods, fire-fighting systems, shampooing, and shaving. This makes them a perfect system to stimulate students’ interest in the chemistry and physics of surface phenomena. In his article, Hernán Ritacco proposes a simple experiment that illustrates the Young–Laplace law using foams and lasers. This experiment involves many concepts, including surface tension, film permeability, liquid flow through mobile and changing channels (plateau borders), and out-of-equilibrium systems.
