ACS Domestic Academic Plan
The ACS Domestic Academic tier-based pricing plan is based on Carnegie Classifications,
enrollment, and historical usage. The primary tiers (1-5) are based on Carnegie Classifications. The secondary
tiers, constructed to recognize differences among institutions within in the same primary tier are
based on enrollment and usage. Prices will reflect volume discounts based on number of titles
taken.
The ACS Domestic Academic Tier prices will reflect the cumulative list prices of ACS Journals for
each tier designation before the volume discount is applied. These prices were
developed using value metrics (number of articles published, usage, citations, impact factors) to
establish a weighting. New journals will be introduced at low weightings within the tiers until a
publishing history is established.
