Out of the Blue
Abstract
A Classroom Activity is described that examines color as an indication of a chemical reaction. The reaction used is a variation on the classic blue bottle demonstration. The Activity also examines the role of various ingredients in the reaction by allowing students to make specific variations in the recipe. The Activity uses household items and commercially available reagents.
