Call for Papers
Special Issue on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect in Chemistry Education Research and Practice
The Journal of Chemical Education calls for papers that leverage theories of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect (DEIR) to increase engagement of individuals from groups underrepresented in the chemistry enterprise, and decrease barriers experienced by these individuals in the discipline. Submit your research and help offer scholars a framework for, and successful examples of, DEIR research and practice in chemistry in an academic and research environment. Submission Deadline EXTENDED to: April 30, 2021

Chemical Safety Education: Methods, Culture, and Green Chemistry
Modern chemistry programs must include the skills and techniques that enable their graduates to perform experiments safely. The articles in this special issue are broadly distributed among topics covering resources, green chemistry, safety culture, and pedagogy. This issue is a resource for ideas and discussion to encourage "a new way to look at safety", with a focus on assessing hazards, minimizing risk, and valuing a strong chemical safety culture.
