Chemical Toxicology of Cigarette, e-Cigarette and Cannabis Smoking
The focus of this virtual collection of research is on the chemical toxicology of cigarettes, e-cigarettes and cannabis smoking. The collection covers a broad range of topics, including the characterizations of chemical transformations of e-cigarette constituents during vaping, toxic mechanisms of action of chemicals in the combustion products of cigarettes and other nicotine products, etc. We envision that conventional and innovative chemical tools will continue to play a major role in understanding the mechanisms of toxicity of smoke from tobacco and its related products. Given the strong interest in this research area and the large number of high-quality papers published in the Journal, we could only choose a small number of articles published in the last three years, and we apologize for the omission of many other outstanding papers.
